Privacy Policy

Nova Shield is a trading name of Astra Solar Pty Ltd (ABN 85 623 609 870). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Astra Solar Pty Ltd trading as Nova Shield. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you, fill your order or keep you updated. Depending on how you deal with us, that can include:

• Stock notifications (the “Notify me” form): your name, email, mobile number (optional), postcode, whether you are a homeowner, installer or retailer, the cover size you're interested in, your battery make and model (optional) and how many covers you might need.
• Contact form and emails: your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
• Trade accounts: your name, business name, ABN, phone, email, roughly how many installs you do, and any message you include.
• Orders: your name, email, phone, delivery address and what you ordered. Payments are processed by Stripe (and Afterpay, if you choose it). We never see or store your full card details.
• Phone calls and texts: your number and what we discuss, so we can follow up.

You don't have to give us your details, but if you don't we may not be able to answer your enquiry, set up a trade account or deliver an order.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and give you quotes.
• To process, deliver and support your order, including warranty and returns.
• To set up and manage trade accounts and trade pricing.
• To tell you when stock is available and send updates about orders, where you have asked us to.
• To keep records we're required to keep by law (for example, tax records).

Emails and text messages

We only send marketing emails or texts if you've agreed to receive them, for example by ticking the box on our “Notify me” form. Every message tells you who it's from and how to stop them. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link, replying STOP to a text, or emailing us. Messages about an order you've placed are not marketing and will still be sent.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with businesses that help us run Nova Shield, and only what they need:

• Netlify, which hosts this website and stores form submissions.
• Stripe and Afterpay, which process payments.
• Our email and SMS providers, which deliver our messages.
• Couriers and freight companies, which deliver your order.
• Our accountants, lawyers and other advisers, where needed.

We may also disclose information where the law requires or allows it.

Information stored overseas

Some of our service providers, including Netlify and Stripe, store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We use established providers that protect the information they hold, and we only give them what they need to provide their service.

Cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe may use cookies during checkout to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections and limiting who in our team can see it. When we no longer need information and aren't required to keep it, we delete it or de-identify it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it or remove you from our lists. Email info@novashield.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us at info@novashield.com.au or on 1300 517 120. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
